Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium is a football stadium located in Istanbul, Turkey, and serves as the home ground of the Turkish football club Fenerbahçe. On October 4, 2006, following a series of deliberations, UEFA selected the stadium to host the final of the 2008–09 UEFA Cup—the last edition of the tournament under that name—where the German side Werder Bremen and the Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk competed for the title on May 21, 2009.
