Inaugurated in 1908, El Molinón is one of Spain's oldest stadiums. As the home ground of the La Liga club Sporting de Gijón, it has a capacity of 30,000 and has previously hosted matches for the 1982 World Cup as well as other major events. With the existing sound system no longer meeting modern requirements, the stadium management decided to upgrade the audio infrastructure. After a rigorous selection process, they chose TSA—a company with over 30 years of industry experience—to carry out the upgrade.

For this project, TSA selected HARD line array systems, utilizing 24 AX-212-3V and 24 AX-210PN units as the main reinforcement arrays. These models incorporate cutting-edge technologies, including variable curvature design, MMSS (Mirror-Image Mechanical Suspension System), the latest MALTCROSS heat dissipation technology, and PM4 high-frequency diaphragms. Leveraging TSA’s exceptional proprietary tuning expertise, these systems set a new benchmark for high-fidelity, top-tier fixed installations and live performances. The new system delivers high sound pressure levels and superior audio quality for future La Liga matches, major sporting events, and concerts, ensuring a perfect auditory experience to complement the thrilling action on the pitch.
